Sitarampur is the paradise of sunrise and sunset for travellers and bikers surrounded by Palash, Sal and Mohul trees in a dense forest located in the Ajodhya hill range of Purulia district. Sitarampur is the symbolic icon of the traditional Indian culture and rural Bengal heritage. The struggle story of Bengal village life and way of life of the primitive tribes can be found in the village.
There is also the wonderous beauty of nature, legend of Lord Rama and mother Sita and countless thrilling stories hidden in the forest. The connection of this village with the Indian epic Ramayana is at the root of the history and naming of the village. Nature and epic are all mixed here with beauty and spirituality. You will love Sitarampur, your heart will melt and you will come again and again.

Purulia is a tropical region of West Bengal. Ajodhya hills of Purulia are a part of the Dalma mountain range and extended part of Eastern Ghats range. Highest peak of Ajodhya Hills is Gorgaburu. Sitarampur Travellers’ and Bikers’ Camp, located just 330 km from Kolkata, is the best weekend gateway for travelers, Bikers, Youtubers, Explorers, photographers and artists. Sitarampur Travelers ‘and Bikers’ Camp will seek inner peace and happiness in the midst of nature, far away from the hustle and bustle and technology surrounded city life.

According to Hindu mythology, Lord Rama and Sita stayed here during their exile. Sita was thirsty and Ram pierced an arrow through the Earth’s soil crust and through that water gushed out. Sita quenched her thirst. The place is known as Sita-kunda. During the full moon day in Baisakh every year tribals of nearby areas come and join in the game of hunting wild animals. It is said that during exile Lord Rama and Mother Sita was in Sitarampur for two days. They lived by building a loft on a tree. From that time the village named as Sitarampur.

Root of Indian traditional culture mixed here with natural beauty. The combination of reforms and mystery, is one of the claimants of greatness here. As you walk along the banks of hilly slopes the magesticity of wild will attract you with it’s greatness. Tara Macha : Watch the the incomparable beauty of sunrise, sunset and full moon set from the camp and definitely a sight to behold. This experience will be even more enlivened if you can witness this natural wonder from Tara Macha.

Sit around Campfire : Heart of the camp is Campfire. Make a campfire on the lap of Ajodhya hill Forest with sharing experience. Stargazing (Best Place for Stargazing near Kolkata)

Making New Friends : You can make new friends in the camp area and during Campfire. Making Local Friends : You can also make new local friends and play with native boys by coming in contact with local people.

Photography : From the camp you can take your favorite nature photographs and in camp photogenic spot you can take photos with local cultural touch.Sitarampur is a piece of paradise for nature lovers.   • Need a valid ID proof
  • DO NOT OPENLY DRINK ALCOHOLE : Do not openly or loudly consume alcohol. You can consume in your accommodation.
  • DO NOT CONTAMINATE: Sitarampur is an eco-friendly village. It is the duty of all of us as a responsible traveler to keep the environment, nature and rivers clean and tidy.. The use of plastics and contaminants in forests and waterfalls is strictly prohibited. Do not contaminate natural water sources using soap, shampoo, oil or any kind of contaminants. Everyone must abide by the camp rules to preserve the natural significance and maintain the natural beauty of the eco-friendly Sitarampur village. With the joint efforts of all of us, we can preserve our nature and preserve the natural significance and environment of the majestic village Sitarampur. If we try, we can gift a beautiful world to our future generations.
  • USE DUSTBIN:It is strictly forbidden to throw any kind of garbage anywhere in the village. Everyone has an appeal to throw garbage only in dustbins. Villagers have made dustbins with their own effort for all of us. Only we can succeed this effort to save Sitarampur. Now a days pollution is an incurable disease but it can be prevented. So we all have to take responsibility for protecting Sitarampur’s environment as a responsible traveler and violating this may cause punishment.
  • ALWAYS TAKE GUIDE: Sitarampur is an adventurous weekend hill camping destination for travellers’ and bikers’. Hilly roads, uneven landscape, rocky terrain and deep forest on step by step. Even a little carelessness here can lead to extreme hazard. There is also the fear of losing the way in unknown hill forest. Moreover, a slight mistake can cause life risk. So be sure to take the Guide before going anywhere.
  • RETURN BETWEEN 6PM AND CONSULT WITH CAMP MANAGER: All are requested to return camp by 6 pm and if there is no activity (Like night walk) from us, please not to go outside the camp premises and consult with the camp manager to avoid any uncertainty. It is advisable to consult with the camp manager to avoid any contingency while leaving the camp.
  • FIRE PRECAUTION INSIDE TENT (Caution for your safety) : Do not smoke inside the tent. Kindly go outside for a smoke. Candles too not allowed within the tents. Do not place hot appliances near the walls roof or curtains.
  • THINGS TO REMEMBER : Sitarampur is an adventurous place and welcome to adventure here. But there are many things to keep in mind, always be aware and follow the instructions of guide. Carry torch, water bottles and dry food. Nearest super specialty hospital in Purulia city.
